I still have all the old vises here too, I guess I save them just for the memories. One of my oldest ones is an old black Universal #2, has a side button for pulling out and then the fly does rotate, altho back then early 70s I didnt know much about using a rotary, just learning to tie. I am glad that I did keep it up though, I did get to meet a lot of great fly fishing and tying people in those years. It gave me a whole different outlook on fishing when I started fly fishing.
