Bloody hell Birdie I thought someone
was going to stand up for British food for a minute then.
Bland it can be. Wont argue that. BUT
we dont have chillies growing wild, okra by the roadside or any other such
spicey vegetable apart maybe from wild horseradish which WILL blow your
tastebuds to bits. And roast beef with horseradish is a British institution.
Curry? Plenty of curry houses in Stoke. No need to travel to Birmingham or
London.
There is a trend to using game meats
now around the UK and very good it is too.
Fish? We import plenty as our
wonderfull fishing fleet has completely screwed the surrounding fishing grounds
by over fishing. And letting in the fleets from Spain Portugal and France has
not helped either.
As for the BFF Steve Thornton does
not have anything to do with it now. Steve Cooper is running it and Thornton is
running the Spring Show. Still plenty of room for two shows IMHO.
The state of British food and fishing IS in good nick. Dont believe all you are told My last word on it
KP
Happy birthday for the 12th
