Here's a chart of the Veniard colors. I was thinking you might look for a
Silver Doctor Blue but they don't list it with that name. I would go with
Glenn's suggestion of Cambridge. By the way... some of the kool aid changes
color when put in water but I don't think you will achieve the color you
want with it based on your description.

Deb

Ed , You may look at Veniard fly tying dyes in ( 40 ) kingfisher
blue and I never seen this one but maybe ( 41 ) light blue ( cambridge ) and
you can weaken the dye as much as you wish and remember just dye two or
three feathers at a time and record the time you soak the feather which may
only take a few minutes and go to the sink and rinse right away to remove
any excess dye. I first wash my feathers with dish soap and rinse well and I
also add a few drops ,not much ,of dish soap in the dye to act as a wetting
agent........Glenn Overton

Subject: [VFB] dyeing

I have gone through all my records on dyeing material from Rit and
cool-aid after going to every store I didnt find any blueberry cool-aid
and the only blue rit I found was royal blue and navy blue.
I got to thinking about the time of year it is and thought about easter
egg dyeing or possibly house hold food coloring I was wondering if
anybody ever used any of them.
The color I'm trying to dye is a very light sky blue or a powder blue,
anybody got any ideas ?
