That's true.  DonO didn't get to be one of the 12.  But he was hired later
as assistant Disciple Manager, since the disciples were always squabbling as
to who was the greatest flycaster.   Paul was at first a chuck'n-ducker on
the Roman Sicilian Powerbait Pro-Team (Captain, no less), where he first
encountered Dr. D (as you mentioned).  Then he saw the light and converted
to flyfishing, and then traveled around quite a bit, casting out demons and
tailing loops.
