“Good fly fishing friends should meet face to face, rod to rod.”

Jimmy D. Moore

At first reading of the above quote, you'll surmise that good fly fishing friends surely have already met.  Not so.  In the case of the fly fishing email lists that I subscribe to, there are many fly fishers that I've never met, and probably will never meet, but I still consider them good friends.  The ones that I have met, I consider special friends.  This was the basis for my quote.

I get a mental picture of each of you
that I correspond with, be it during swaps, sharing information on the lists or your comments on the Daily Quote.  When I meet you for the first time or see a photo of you,  my mental picture is on occasion, right on, but more often, you look entirely different from what I had pictured. Take Allan Fish for instance.  I thought he was a young man.  How interesting it was when I found out that he was just an Old Fart like me. ;-)

Have a Great Day!
