I'm very sorry to hear this.
I never met Murf in person, but felt that we were friends. He was so active on the list and we had some very good discussions. Currently I have plans to visit Cape Cod in September, yesterday I was studying the map, if it is possible to drop by at his home and say hello. Sometimes life is so strange, his grandson was born a couple of weeks ago, and now the family lost the grandpa. When my son was born I lost a close friend 2 days ago. Some people said that God was in need for a soul for the young.
He will be in my prayers and thoughts.

I am deeply saddened this morning. My very close personal friend and a friend to all on this list is gone. David Murphy passed away earlier this morning.

Murf was one of the kindest most generous persons I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. I first met Dave at the Fly Tying Symposium about 10 years ago. We fished, tied flies and caroused ever since. Those memories will stay with me forever.

Condolences may be sent to his lovely wife Lena and family at...

I will miss Dave so much.
