[VFB] Murf Memorial Fly Collection - Jimmy D will Meister - PARTICULARS

Since nobody else has stepped forward, and since DonO volunteered me, I'm honored to Meister the David Murphy Memorial Fly Collection.  Allan Fish offered to pay for the shadow box and postage, which is a nice and generous gesture, but I like DonO's idea of each person sending a couple $ when they send their fly to me.  That way, we'll all feel better. I know I will.    I'll purchase a nice shadow box like I did for Jody, buy the green felt, the corks to mount the flies on and put it all together.  With the rate that commitments are coming in, it appears that the box will have to be at least 20 to 24 inches square.  Jody's is 18"X18" and two inches deep, holding 51 flies comfortably. The packaging will have to be carefully done to keep the glass from breaking. Then it will have to be shipped SPECIAL HANDLING, with insurance, tracking, etc.etc.  I would think that if each of us sends $ 2.00 with our fly that should cover it. Depending on the size of the shadow box, felt, cork and postage the total could easily be around $ 40.00  If it takes a larger shadow box, the total cost could be as much as $60.00 +, i.e. the bigger the box, the more the postage is going to cost.  Unless I deleted someone, the count right now stands at 26 commited to tying a memorial fly.

PARTICULARS  - Please read the entire directions below and follow them exactly.

Tie a fly (of your choice), not an overly large or extremely small fly, but just an average size fly and send it with $ 2.00 to me at my address below.  I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE ALL THE FLIES IN MY POSSESSION NO LATER THAN MAY 5.  That should give you plenty of time to tie one fly and get it to me by then.

Also, I need the name of your fly, your name and your city and state.  I will print small identifying (toe tags) that will be glued onto the felt immediately below your fly.

IF YOU WANT TO PARTICIPATE AND HAVE NOT RESPONDED YET, PLEASE SEND YOUR COMMITMENT TO THE VFB and C.C me on it.  That way others will know that you're participating and I will have a C.C. that should get my attention in case I overlook your VFB post.  Also, I'll get a better feel for the size shadow box I'll need to get.
