Deb: Thanks... Maybe I meant to say "spun and PACKED" vs spun and
stacked???? I'd just have to scan the pic (or I'll find one like I'm talking
about and send ya the link).. But the one in the pic had a head of green,
yellow, and red , deer hair.. in Alternating colors.. And he said you "spun"
a color on, "packed it tight with the dowel tool and /or washer or that
brassie tool.. Then, you "spun the next color on, packed it, etc etc till
you had the whole head built.. Then, you take scissors and cut the head to
the shape you want, and the end result in this case was a squarish head,
that alternated colors. Then, he took the same color rubber legs, and stung
those through the head (about three sets of legs) with a needle...It just
looked #1 FUN #2 Like it would really catch fish great... Thanks, Chuck

Chuck
If you send us a link to the picture of the popper you want to tie we can
tell you if it was a spun deer hair popper or stacked deer hair.
In general spun bugs are either a solid color or striped all the way around
the body. Frogs with spots or bugs with stripes on top are stacked... the
color doesn't spin around the hook.
As a few have said Chris Helms has videos that are very helpful. He has a
web site but it is more of a store front so I won't post the link here. It
isn't set up like Byards where you can find the pictures of the video so it
wasn't very helpful for the visual shopper but he will mail you a video.
Byard may be able to get one for you though if you ask him. He has some
videos that may not be on his website. Give him a call.
Warm Regards,
Deb
