Don,
"I hope your
wrist is healed up and I hope your foot heals well. Need the wrist for
fishing and tying and the foot for wading."
My wrist is
not completely healed up. The watch is still on my right hand. I don't have
static pain though so I can tie and in other words... survive. But it hurts when
I put pressure on it and there are a couple of "spooky" angles which gives me
kind of a a Sowbug Deja-Vu. From no pain at all... <BAM>... and it
feels like someone drives a nail straight through it. But the wrist isn't what
bothers me now... it's usable for both fishing and tying. What's bothering me is
my foot... I'm going to England in a few weeks and Keith has promised me to take
me to one of his "Fear No Fish" cult meetings at Stonehenge... sacrifices,
full moon dancing and all that voodoo nonsens. I can't dance with an
injured foot. They will doubt my loyalty. Jester will be irritated and take
command... and that has never ended nicely in the past. Keith will be able
to run... but I will be eaten alive.
"Let us
know how you make out with the scoundrels. Maybe get someone to go in and
set them up into admitting (via bragging) about what they did to this guy.
Have a tape recorder going for the judge."
I strongly
doubt this will go all the way up to a judge. I don't know who of the two
pushed me... I wouldn't even be able to identify them if I saw them in a
line-up. (Never been there before - never seen them before.) If they would win,
which they most likely would since I have nothing... I will be the one ending up
paying for the trial costs.
But now it is
a police matter... on paper. They will hear from the police and the case will be
worked. If they prefer to settle it "calmly", I will be happy and don't
request for more than I have lost. If they decide to take it higher, then I will
withdraw. But since I didn't have any expectations to begin with
I won't be disappointed, as I have still achieved what I REALLY aimed for when I
went down today: Next time this happens to somebody, my case will be documented
and it might help that guy. And if it doesn't happen again, it might
be because they have learned that in this country, smaller things than murder
can become a police issue. (Either way I will have made a
difference.)
