Bart:

You could always spin your own and trim it as short as you would like. Not too difficult to do either.

Bart: Well, for example, a #16 Chili Pepper.. Has to have that Crystal Chenille to be effective, or to be right, and even the micro chenille I have is big for a 16 or 18. Then there is a fly I "invented" that has a black hen hackle, black squirrel hair tail and hot pink chenille body I called the "pink panfish producer (oh and a gold bead head).. And the bluegill love it.. I can catch em real good on #8-12's, but since I have some 16's and 18's, I wanted to tie with them, Chuck

Folks: I was wondering if anybody else has trouble with things like chenille covering the hook gap on #16 and smaller hooks??? Seems that even when I use Micro chenille it wants to fill in the hook's gap and thus, I get bites, but lose a lot of fish...And, if I start up farther from the hooks bend, I only get about one good wrap, or then it covers the hook's eyes???? I tried going to a 3/0 thread body, and/or unraveling a regular knitting yarn, and using a strand of it,and using floss as well, but I lose the "sparkle" of the "crystal chenille" that attracts the fish.. Thanks for any ideas..Thanks, Chuck

8/0 or smaller thread and some dubbing. What kind of fly are you trying to tie?
