Subject: [VFB] Salwater fly reels

Would like some suggestions for a reel capable of handling bonefish and permit. I do not want to spend a huge sum.

Should not be very surprising that the company that changed the entire
industry with great quality reasonably priced rods has done the same thing
with reels.

Temple Fork
180 375-LA 3.75" 8.0 7-9 WF8F & 250-YDS 20# Backing $249.95 $129.95
181 425-LA 4.25" 9.2 10+ WF10F & 275-YDS 30# Backing $259.95 $139.95

These prices are from Feather-Craft web site

For another $125 you can go to Ross Canyon
378 CANYON-4 3.75" 7.3 7-9 WF8F & 185-YDS 20# Backing $375 $195
379 CANYON-5 4.00" 8.0 8-10 WF9F & 200-YDS 30# Backing $405 $216

I would suggest either two reels or spare spool.  Usually you will throw a bigger line
to Permit than to bones.

Be sure to check out E-bay !!!
