As far as I know the IFTS is still a go. The rumors have it that Danbury,
Wilmington and possibly Marlboro also may disappear. :( That just about
covers New England. I hope one survives!
Sad,

Subject: Re: [VFB] New England Fly Shows

That's surprising news to me, Deb, though I suppose I shouldn't be.
We've lost major flyfishing/outdoor shows here in OR over the past few
years. They just skip from Seattle to San Mateo now, leaving poor old
Portland in the wake. It always seemed well-attended, but that is only
from my consumer perspective. I'm sure the promoter and vendors must
have had a different view.

We still have a large tying Expo that is thriving out here each spring.
It's quite similar to the Sowbug. There are no true vendors to support,
as this is a tyers only show. However, it is changing next year to a
more "well-rounded" flyfishing affair replete with casting ponds,
company booths, and materials suppliers in addition to the tying show.
It will be interesting to see if the new formula works or not.

Is the IFTS still a go? It would be a shame for that to fall by the
wayside.

Cheers!
Monte
