Too sad. Sweden will certainly contribute with a few of the bricks to rebuilding her assortment.
I know I'm not as experienced as most of the "oldies" around here, but I do know how it is to find the fly for the day and then put it in a tree... with no back-ups. My suggestion is therefore to not put one fly in the envelope, but maybe three or four of the same pattern. (Keith, I know it wasn't the fly of the day...but even though I felt compelled to put one up for display, I still would have liked one for myself. Even though you're extremely old, you maybe remember how it is to be a young novice apprentice.) /Nick -----Ursprungligt meddelande----- Från: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] För Deborah Duran Skickat: den 24 maj 2006 16:51 Till: [email protected] Ämne: [VFB] HELP! Hi Guys It's not my style to ask you guys for things ... but I know you guys love kids so I thought of you. Daphne is a young girl (16 yrs) in our childrens program for UFT. Saturday we were out fishing at a local pond and she put her fly boxes on top of her dads car. Well you know what happened when they drove away. I got phone calls from both her mom and dad but they had no luck finding the boxes. If any of you can help... her father asked me to contact our club members but our club is off for the summer and if I copy this message to the UFT board Daphne will be able to read it. That's what made me think of you guys. Her birthday is in July and her father would like to surprise her. I know you guys don't know her but I bet she would be shocked if she got flies from some of you. She fishes both saltwater and fresh but the boxes she lost that day were freshwater flies. She would be thrilled with any fly you can donate to the cause. If you're interested, her fathers information and letter is below and I would really appreciate your help. I felt really bad because I was driving behind them and I didn't realize what it was that I saw fly by until they told me what had happened. Thank you! Warm Regards, Deb Dear Deb, Unfortunately I did not find Daphne's flies. I drove all the way back to the Deer Creek Farm, the "wrong" way we left on Saturday. Bob Buonanno was there telling me that he checked and did not find anything. I then walked half a mile and back, drove back at slow speed for at least 5 miles but did not see any box. Could I ask you a big favor and forward a request to all the members of United Fly Tiers of RI to send me one fly each, So I could buy two boxes to put them in and give them to Daphne as a present for her birthday on July 25th? Thank you very much for your help. Kind regards Daniel Daniel Forster Photography 15 Mount Hope Avenue Jamestown, RI 02835 www.uftri.org
