She does tie flies but she told me she has problems with the small trout
flies. I think at this point it’s just practice and getting a little more
dexterity in her fingers. She really gets plenty of stuff from our UFT
members so she’s all set with supplies. She has outgrown the childrens
program so she will be part of our regular UFT group starting in the fall.
We’re slowly working her into being an instructor for us also. She got a
full table the first time we had her instruct for UFT and that does wonders
for a kids self confidence. I think we’re going to give her a couple more
beginner saltwater tables this year as long as it doesn’t interfere with her
school work. I may have to work something out with mom where I can drive
her on Wednesdays. She lives over on the islands but goes to school at a
private school closer to my house and our meetings.
If it works out she will be getting lots of instruction on different
techniques this year.
Thank you for thinking of her.
Warm Regards,
Deb

Well, let me put it this way, if she came, you'd surely come.  That was my
ultimate goal anyway. Believe me, Deb, Sow Bug is one of the best.  You
really need to get next years event on your calendar and get one of the gals
like Foxy to come with you.  Or heck, bring your husband.  I'm sure he'd
enjoy the fishing while you are tying flies.

Hey Everyone,
I got a really nice letter from Daphne too. She must have taken a lot of
time from fishing to write all these thankyou,s.  Really glad she can use
the flies!!  Deb,,,does she do her own tying also?? Does she need any
materials too??
Well,,good to know my flies do work since I havent had much chance to fish
yet this year!

Whoa... Jimmy D she's only 16.  She will turn 17 this summer but I don't
think her mother will let me bring her all the way to Arkansas.  I'm trying
to talk her mom into bringing her to the Somerset show.  I think they both
would enjoy it.
She's in Canada now... she won some kind of a scholarship for an all
expenses paid educational week there.  She's a very bright young lady.
I'm glad you're all getting nice letters from her.  She really loved the
flies.
Warm Regards,
Deb

Me too! She was really taken aback with all the flies she received.
With a little work, us'ns might be able to get Daphne and Deb to attend
next year's Sow Bug.
