I got this from a friend this morning.
Wondering about Mark and a few other friends I have in
that area. No phone service no contacts.
Tony

I am in the Catskills until Friday night. This is a
report on the conditions of the river and towns. No
phone service in Roscoe or at Museum...could be
several more days.

Incredible. Much damage and devastation. Rivers have
never been higher and done as much damage to both
towns Livingston Manor and Roscoe. All businesses
suffered damage from filled basements to water through
stores and loss of inventory and structure damage.

Rivers remain high, but they are slowly receding.
Museum fared well as we are high ground. Water
erosion wiped out part of the driveway, channels 2
feet wide and 2 feet deep. Had to put in about 40
wheelbarrows of gravel this morning to get up the
hill. Flooding eroded roads, caused mud and rock
slides closing roads.

Twin Island camp ground is devastated with water
pushing mobile homes and trailers like dominoes.
Beaverkill Campsite is no longer. Roscoe Motel is
destroyed. Antrim lodge which was to open late this
summer/early fall sustained major damage for third
time, might not make it this time. Livingston
Manor-Water broke basement windows in Frank Kutners
home filling basement until it ran out other side and
his shop was completely soaked and most of floor has
to be replaced. Richard Bradley new fly shop lost
most of the merchandise and damaged all motors on
machining equipment. Mary Dette fly shop basement was
flooded to the first floor. Jorgensens house, water
flooded basement to seep into first floor and river
went from front to back tearing off back porch and
moving it downstream about a half mile and shed in
back was moved 100 feet away until resting on gravel
mound in front of old Bob's house; driveway is gone
leaving holes the size of cars in front and back.

Roads are washed away, erosion on sides of roads have
collapsed roads and undercut most. Houses have been
moved, destroyed, and one woman fell into river when
house collapsed and body yet to be recovered.

With any luck there will be no more rain for a few
days...3" or more now will do it again. They had 12"
rain in 2 days which caused the major flash flooding.

This link will give you a few photos of Roscoe,
Livingston Manor, Delaware, and other areas.

Attitude of all in area is very understanding and
they moving forward with clean up and rebound; they
all say "it could have been worse". Some businesses
will re-open, unfortunately, some will not.
