"" Hi Mick, Abysmal weather, wrote off the spring sea trout season. Only got out twice in two months but the cross country skis got a good workout. Salmon season started well; five fish in four days. Two of these days written off with easterly winds and rain but the other two saw one 15lb fish and one 12lb fish in three casts and three more about 8lbs. Had one fish of about 20lb take one jump and spit the fly back at me. Ran in to Paul Marriner on the river and told him not to write an article on the return of large salmon to the Grand Codroy R. Off to Portland Creek next week. In August will drive across the Rockies from Calgary to Vancouver. Start on the Bow R, down to Fernie (Elk R) through the Crowsnest Pass (Crownest R) a few inland BC lakes for rainbows, then meeting up with my old fishing mate Brian Chambers from Melbourne for a trip to Tofino (Vancouver Is) for some Coho in the saltwater.
