Title: Meddelande
The breeder told me a very long story before Joe had arrived too (with Mr Komar resting in his own room, safely out of hearing range). He started to reveal his secrets about how to mix x-genes and y-genes to the cocktails we all know as Conranch hackles and I listened good and was really fascinated by it. I wondered a little though, "why do he reveal this". But after five minutes (still listening) I realized... as I had forgotten all that he had said uptil FOUR minutes ago. The man had read me before he started... he knew I was way too messed up to remember any of it and I was as far from a threat that one can come.

What I remember today is that he mentioned 'X' and 'Y' and that he used both roosters and hens to get the fastest breeding rate... and I don't think any of his competitors will give me a lot for that info.  ;o)

I never met the Swedish Redneck in Person, but I can imagine your experience. Dennis is such a great source about chickens, meeting him and sharing the room is one of my ff-highlights. On other highlight was a couple of hours stay in Tony's shop.

I guess the fact that I shared the same room with the same hackle chicken breeder and the Swedish Redneck last March also quallifies me.

We had some great discussions of chicken breeding and a wonderful opportunity to examine Dennis' stock for Sowbug.

I can offer:

.... to drive all the way from Germany to AR to room with a hackle
chicken breeder, a manufacturer of wooden fly reels and a host of a fly

or to put names to the titles:  Dennis Conrad, Jimi Genzling and Gerry
Wolfe.

Hey, the room was designed for 2 beds, but they put 2 additional beds
in, we had to plan in advance, who had when the right to use the
remaining floor <G>

It was amazing to listen to the gentlemen when they discussed hook
lenght, barb length and the breeding temperature of chickens. I will
always remember these days.
