Oh, I'm fine. Hard to eat because of a chewed tongue... but other than that, fine. I rarely fall and hit myself nowadays since most seizures come when I sleep or am about to fall asleep... so I'm lying down already, either in the bed or on the sofa. That is much better than the way it was before, when black eyes, fat lips and stitches were regularities. To that comes the fact that the frequency of the seizures today is around one (single or group) every third or fourth month. I remember a time when we were talking once a week. That was different. Those came when I was awake... and without warnings I just fell into whatever was in front of me.
So, since I have gone through that once, it's easy to say this: 'Today I can't do anything but feel lucky.' Getting seizures four times a year and also feel safe about them... I know several epileptic people who have far worse lives than I have. There's no reason to feel sorry for me. Teresa is a retired nurse... and my mom works at a home for retardeds, of which 95% have epilepsy.
