Hey gang,
I've been real quiet as of late and have
been just kind of lurking. Life has been busy and I barely get a chance to fish
or do much fishing related activities. I'm hoping that that will all change
soon. If I can finish the fence and get through my buddies wedding (I'm the best
man and X fishing buddy(think she pushes for that)) then I should be in the
clear for a wee bit. I've not touched the vise in some time (mainly due to
having tied quite a bit last fall and not fishing as much). I'm still working
way too many hours and it's really getting old, sure it's better then not
working at all but after a while you need some self and family time. April is
starting to do really well with her real estate business and we're planning for
me to join her in it by this time next year. I hope to have a little more time
to respond and be part of the group again but it gets tough when you get home 3
hours before bed time and there are chores to be done. I did have a week off at
the end of June, I spent it working on houses in Miss. that were damaged in
Katrina. It was a great experience and an awesome chance to use my skills as a
carpenter to truly make a difference. While there I got to have some real home
made southern 6 specie gumbo, one of which was alligator sausage (Yummm), I also
had catfish for the first time in my life at a place called Catfish Charlie
(more Yummm). If you have the opportunity to volunteer time for a cause like
this I suggest you do so, it is rewarding on so many different levels that I
can't hardly explain. Well I'm done with my little catch up and hope that I can
contribute on a more regular basis again.
Jim
