We can use your help today (Mon. Aug. 28) for a stress test of the
Sugar Creek Ranch BigFishCam video streaming server.
The test will be in primetime for fish viewing at 3-5 p.m. Pacific
Standard Time. The server is supposed to be able to handle up to 25
viewers at one time without a performance degradation, and we want to
confirm that.
Please tune in 3-5 p.m. and tell us if you experience any performance
glitches, thanks! There is an error report form at:
http://www.sugarcreekranch.com/bigfishcam.html
We would also try to overload the server at 4 p.m. -- so if you can,
try to log in as close to 4 p.m. as possible.
Here's the URL:
http://pointers.audiovideoweb.com/asxfiles-live/va91winlive2143.asx
Windows Media Player or equivalent required. Broadband required. The
system will work on Apple Macs providing the Windows Media Player
plugin is installed.
You can also get there via
http://www.sugarcreekranch.com/bigfishcam.html (has more detailed
instructions) or the site's Home Page.
We are settling in on permanent hours of 12 noon-6:30 p.m. to be
adjusted as the seasonal light changes. Please limit your viewing to
20 minutes and don't let the player run unattended. The bandwidth
charges for this feature can really add up quickly. It wouldn't
surprise us if we get a $30 bandwidth charge just for today's test.
Thank you and hopefully good viewing!
