My view of things is that I can learn from any tier, a different way to approach a problem, different solutions. That's why I've so enjoyed Sowbug, where I can meet many different tiers (and many from this list) and see how different problems are approached and solved. Seeing things in text is one thing (and it's helpful), but in person is something else again. Sorry, I've been inactive for a while here, but work is killing me this month...hopefully things around the college will slow down a bit in October.

I'm basing my selections on personal experience with the flies of the
tyers listed above, I have received flies from all of them, either
through regular fly swaps, Jody's Courage Swap, and Murf's Memorial
Swap. Looking at a photo of a fly in a magazine just ain't the same as
seeing a fly in person. I'm sure there are other great or greater tyers
around, but this is my take on the best of the VFB.
