When ever I get back from fishing the salt is to wash EVERYTHING metal
then nothing gets missed then found to be useless the next time your out.
With reels and rods I give them a good rinse under the taps.Used flies
are left out of the box till they are dry.

Salt Water Addicts,
I just returned from my first salt water fishing - report still to write.
Now I'm wondering, how I should take care of my equipment. I've
already discovered rust on some not so important things - the
hemostats got a bit of rust and a nipper. Very quick, Mr. rust.
My questions:
What to do with the rods, I used? Anything to do with the rods, which
I didn't use. They were in a seperate container, which I didn't opend
- but they were probably exposed to moist air.
Same question to reels?
I rinsed and dried all my flies, which I fished, before I returned
them to my fly boxes. More actions suggested?
Should I rinse my fly boxes?
Nipper and Zinger?
Other thoughts?
Thanks a lot
