Subject: [VFB] Fishing report from the
Chalkstreams
Well Keith - i was kid of waiting for that one - but have been
really busy working lately.
YES!! I had a relly great time :-) To
thouges of you that dont't know i went to the land og Keith(England) to go
fishing in the chalgstreams of history, Itchen, Avon and Test.
We
started out by wisiting the grave og Mr. Izak Walton, a must see if in that
part of the world i guess. We then went to a Trout Fishery called Avington,
an flyfishing only Put N' Take with the clearest water i have ever seen in a
Fishery. Wery good fishing and a lot of fish on land :-)
I'm not
going to do a day by day report, all i have time for right now is to tell you
: If you ever have the chance to go to the UK and have the time (and the
means) you have to give youselve the chance to fish one of theese beautyfull
streams. The fishing i extremely dificult, there was very little water and
the water was so clear that we had no problem seeing all the fish, also the
once that was near the button at 3-4 meters of water. Aproaching the river
was down on all 4 and very slowly to tha banks, find the fish, get ready to
cast and as soon as the line lands on the water 5 to 10 fish were spooked,
incl the fish i was casting to.
All in all a very good trip with some
fishing that are very diferent to the fishing i do here in Denmark or Norway.
It is absolutely NOT the last time i am going to fish the chalkstreams of
England.
Again i would like to thanks the guys here on the list for
providing me with information and flypatterns :-)
Pictures can be seen
here : http://www.fly-fishing.dk/Billeder/gallery/index.html (Sorry
but the text to the pictures are in Danish)

Hansen There`s a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore
like an idiot....
