It's all been done... hasn't
it? I guess it's only a matter of materials that change. The coffee fly I use
is all natural color (many brown shades and near black) that way when its
fished in fast water and flipping around and tumbling it still looks like a
brown beetle. I haven't had a problem using gel or standard super glue for
construction of these simple but effective flys. These float like a cork! Hook - dry fly large gape
10-16 Thread - black or brown Hackle - two turns palmered forward
brown or black & trimmed on top Body - Coffee bean super glued on top of
all of this. BTW - The killer fly on my
last outing was the Lafontaine foam ant and foam beetle - photos to come... BP |
