Hi Steve , I sent your letter to Terry Hellekson and I know he and his wife Pat will love this . I was over their house several time per month while the book was being put together, sharing what I had and my extensive library , advise and questions .It was so great of the wonderful fokes I meet in the Catskills and Terry also knew well and hundreds of others that shared with me over the years and now to see in print ,that everyone has this encyclopedia of honesty that without Terry Hellekson would for ever be lost . It has bother me and Terry over the years that when someone write a article in a magazine or in a book ,fabricating things far from the facts. So now we have a place to go about the history and flies in his book ," FISH FLIES' and as you written below ,so much more .

Those Tobin's Little People really work ,  Bill Tobin was a great friend and a great hackle farmer and I was excited to have Terry edit my notes and pictures of Bill Tobin and my flies that Elsie Darbee tied for me.These can be seen on Terry's web site .   hellekson.com   .I been using Tobin's Little People for over thirty five years .

Steve I appreciate your sharing ....Glenn Overton

Subject: [VFB] Fish Flies-Hellekson

I just got my copy of Terry's book 'Fish Flies' and was I astonished. I spent all evening perusing 717 pages and realized what a treasure this will be to my reference library. Along with Hughes'  Trout Flies and Leeson-Schollmeyers'  Benchside Reference, Fish Flies will be a real go-to book for me. The information that is most useful to me is how Terry goes into the history of a particular pattern. When I read about a pattern that I had no prior knowledge, it's kind of like finding a new gold vein.
Kudos to you, Terry.
Regards, Steve Schalla
