Sowbug 2006, a VFB gathering at a
dinner place of which I can't remember the name and Charlie
Bonner selling cheap tungsten beads. I bought 100... and then they were
gone. <POFF>... just like that. I looked and I looked and I looked when I
came home... and then I looked some more, but eventually I gave up and accepted
the fact that they decided to stay in the US.
A couple of days ago I decided
it was cold enough to upgrade the thickness of my jacket. I took the
thicker one out of the closet, got surprised by Emelie banging her head
against my leg and dropped the jacket on the floor. Out from the pocket on the
arm falls a little plastic bag... with gold beads. I looked deeper in the
pocket and yes, there was also a bag of copper beads. 2 x 50 beads I had no
recollection of buying... until I also saw the corner of something else in
there. It was some kind of a ticket from Little Rock airport... and
suddenly the coin fell down: "100 beads... Charlie Bonner?" I wasn't sure
though, since I didn't remember buying two different kinds, but after weighing
the two bags against two bags of regular brass beads, there
was no doubt about it. After 7 months they are finally in the bead
dispenser.
