Another thing that I might mention. One of the last things I do on a rod is glue on the reel seat. This is more important on a hex bamboo rod as the guides are on the flats and they can't be adjusted like they can on a round rod. What I do is slip the seat on the blank , make sure it fits snug like I want to glue it on. Put a reel in the seat and check the guides for alignment. Remove the reel seat with the reel on it and apply glue to the blank and inner part of the seat. Slip the seat in place, line up the reel sighting through the opening in the spool with the guides. I use my wrapping rack to set the rod on with the reel, aligned with the guides, hanging straight down. This keeps the reel seat from shifting. Let is sit there till the glue is set.
