Interesting is, that most of the answers name grizzly. My favorite color is a rusty dun, a color like the hair of redheaded girls. Maybe I'm getting old. Basically I think that adding red to a fly adds some flovour and I get more hits. I rib now with red wire. Anyway, 2nd question: From what I see, grizzly has the most dens hackle barbs (highest barb count). Is it just my own feathers, or this there a genetic reason, that grizzly hackle have the most dens barbs. BTW: Joyce always promoted red in flies, she tied a lot with red thread - Are you still around?
