Anyone ever tried dying feathers with a good red wine, like a Pinot As much as I truely love to tie flies and trout fish. I think I like the taste color and aroma of a fine wine just a little higher on the board. But I guess dunking a streamer or two into a glass before sipping may be alright. I usually do have a glass handy while tying (except if it is before 10 am,,,or is that 9,,,whatever) Another thing might be to try the cheese that you have with the wine,,,, rub the fly with that before or after dipping into the wine. Use a mild cheese,,,not sharp,,,dont want to hurt the fish LOL
