Tom: Yes, that white does help.. I have a tying tape that has Lefty Kreh in it (just about the first tape I bought when I started tying) and he said to use a white background.. So, I went to Wal Mart, and they have these sheets of Plastic "cardboard" for under $3 each.. Then, I took a piece of 2 by 4 and set my tablesaw at about a 15 degree angle, and cut a slot 1/4" (the thickness of that plastic cardboard) wide down the center of the 2 by 4..I cut the slot about 3/4" deep, and put that white piece behind the vise, and it works great, one reason , I think, is that this stuff is flat white, and doesn't glare like a glossy finish would.....Chuck ----- Original Message ----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [email protected] Sent: Friday, December 01, 2006 9:45 AM Subject: Re: [VFB] Eric W. Read a pass letter on lighting for fly tying
Good Morning All!!!! The new driving job is going great and with a couple of days left to hunt here in VT, i'm back on the list only because i've missed you guys!!! My two cents on lighting...i usually tie at the kitchen table with the over head lite on. For better clarity, i use one of those styrofoam trays that meat comes on from the grocery store..works for me very well. The tray reflects just enough lite....now all i gotta do is get them darn bifocals ordered!!! Tom in VT
