Rene: Some of the early Rio lines were made for Rio by Cortland. I have a couple of their windcutter spey lines in different weights one of which had a small removable tag identifying Cortland as the manufacturer similar to the tag that says "this end to reel" or words to that effect. If this tag is not present, there is no real way of telling as far as I know. At one time, Cortland produced a line called the Lazer Line that was marked in some way, but I never had one of these.

I will try this line out. Question? How can I be sure that this is really a Hardy/Cortland line? Ok, it is in its original package, but is there any detail on the line. I know, zilly question, but look at my last name <G> Rene
