I bought one of the Mongoose vises last year. I'm very happy with it. I was using an HMH standard before, and find having the true rotary comes in handy more often. It is fairly solid, and having it come with both the c-clamp and pedestal base is a huge bonus. I use the c-clamp at home, and on the road the base.
The case it comes in is handy, and you can put a few items in there. The cam closure on the jaw works great. I have an older style Spider and odyssey, and didn't like the double screw closure. I'm not a huge fan of the material spring that comes with the vise, as it gets in the way on bigger flies. Having said that though, it can be moved easily. It's well worth the money I spent on it, and I have tied over 4000 flies. The only wear showing so far is a bit of the finish on the jaw. Hope that helps.
