Henk: Thanks... I'll be sure and check that out before buying a certain one,
cause I would certainly want to be able to lock it down when I wanted to for
sure, Chuck

Are there any "cons" to a rotary vise?????? If so, what are they???

Some rotaries have no, or limited, means to immobilize the head in one, or
more, fixed positions -- this can be frustrating. Some true rotaries have
limited access to the rear of the hook, such as the Norvise (that has this by
design) and some poorly designed cheap ones. This takes some getting used to.

Also, I see these vises that have a stand instead of the "C" clamp to clamp
them to the table...Do these not fall over sometimes when you are pulling a
material real tight???

Depends on the weight and size of the base, but yes, eventually any baseplate
vice is less stable than the corresponding C-clamp model.

If so, when shopping for one, do you just try to get the one with the
heaviest base you can get??? Thanks, Chuck

No you get one with the heaviest baseplate AND a C-clamp...
