Speaking of stripping hooks... I have a bunch of demo-fly hooks from the last show with partial flies and demo flies (hopped up with a hacksaw) tied on them.
If someone- preferrably a newbie, wants them to strip for the hook, finish as flies, or save as samples, you're welcome to them. Let me know if you can use left-over materials, too. Good stuff, not scraps, just left-over stuff. I put the fly in my vise, and use the single edged razor blade along the hook shank.. Going AWAY from yourself of course... If I use scissors, in case i run into lead or copper wire, or the hook shank itself, I use the back part of the scissors, not the tip, as that will basically ruin the scissors... and I have a LOT of experience at this, being a new tier and having a lot of bad flies LOL...Chuck ----- Original Message ----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [email protected] Sent: Sunday, December 10, 2006 9:11 PM Subject: Re: [VFB] Stripping old hooks? hey Jimi, I just use a single edge razor blade and slice it all off Ray ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ No virus found in this incoming message.
