Patrick, I'm really sorry to hear about your wife. I really wish there was something I could do to help you financially, but I may have some good information for you. Being a Paramedic and working for a privately owned ambulance service, we encounter this kind of problem all the time, where patients can't afford the hospital or the ambulance ride TO the hospital. BUT, there is help out there. First check with your medical insurance company, they MAY help in sending the doctors/hospital a "downpayment" prior to having the surgery performed. There's also a program called the "Indigent Program", in which they will get with the hospital/doctors and more-less guarantee payment for the surgery. I also believe that the "Red Cross" will help, (I could very well be mistaken about this though), in cases of emergency surgery. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT let her wait till that cyst bursts. She could die very quickly due to the internal bleeding and the sepsis caused from the burst cyst. I just talked with my wife and she concurs. She also said to check with your "National Women's Health Information Center", (part of the department of health and human services), "National Institute of Child Health and Human Development", (they're listed on the government page for ovarian cysts)... Also check up there in Eugene, there should be a "teaching hospital" which should help in this case... She also said to talk with the specialist and that they can breakup the cyst with medications, because she has a friend who also has ovarian cysts and that's what her friend is doing... Hope this helps some... My thoughts and prayers go with you...

NREMT - Paramedic Life is too short, go fishing... ----- Original Message ----- From: patrick To: [email protected] Sent: Friday, December 22, 2006 8:16 PM Subject: [VFB] sad news Sad news, on monday i got a call from the wife at work that i need come home and take her to the hospitle.. I rushed home in a panic and she was doubled over in pain, i then took her to the hospitle and we spent all day there [1030 am to 8pm] we did find out that she has a sist on her left ovary that is bleeding [ the doc said its a choclatlely looking sist] he refered us to a specialist and we went to her and she said it was the size of my fist, so natrully we asked when the surgary will be, her first words were about money, the basic price for the surgary is $3500 dollars and that they want half up front, natrully our jaws droped and hit the floor and we said that we dont have that kind of money, so she said that we can wait till it ruptures and go into the E.R. and then get a bill for it.. now we have do have good insurance but i guess that doesnt make a diffrence to this place, so i have come up with a sulotion and that is to sell all my flytying stuff that i have just recieved and the new poles and reels so pls keep us in your prayers to be able to come up with the money and for a safe and fast surgary.. I know that this is not fishing related but i had to rant a little, the tears are starting to flow so its time to sign off this, will keep you all posted on the out come and i will be posting all the things that i have for sale very shortly [like i told my wife its all materialistic stuff that can be replaced and she cant shes my love, my best friend, my everything ] Blessed Be and a safe and Happy Yule Merry Christmass Patrick Harnish 963 N.E.
