Not sure if I understand the question, Reuven. Most Spey Hackle is from Blue 
Eared Pheasant or Rooster Schlappen. I will tend to use the material in the 
same manner as using hen hackle on wet flies...I'll fold the hackle and wrap 
the appropriate number of turns for the fly pattern, If it's too bulky, I'll 
strip one side and wrap.

I've tried to strip the Spey Hackle to cut down on bulk, as Ronn Lucas as 
recommended,  but I totally fail at this method and ruin to many Spey Hackles.

one of those "lurkers" I thought I'd make my contribution for a change.
