I love the magazine, more so when I compare it to Fly Fishing and Fly Tying
magazine's November Issue. What a let down. It was just a collection of
already published articles from the previous several months FF&FT. I think
I'll take it through to december and then drop it. Not worth the $12.00 per
copy. Tyer is for tiers who don't want all the crap that fills the other
mags.
I have decided that I'd rather get a nice book every couple months instead
of wasting money hoping to find a gem of an article that does come once in
a while. I used to love the magazine but it has gone downhill. How many ways
can you debate the pros and cons of adding a tag of red to a fly??

Subject: [VFB] The latest FlyTyer mag is a good one

Picked up the Winter issue of Fly Tyer magazine after browsing it in
the grocery store. Thought it was worth recommending a look-see.

There's something in the issue for just about any fly tying taste.
Crease flies, warmwater tube flies, realistics by Oliver Edwards, a
great section of Klamath Basin (Oregon) trout flies by tyer Dick
Winter, Guide patterns for Stripers, some promising looking foam head
baitfish patterns, substitute materials for Atlantic Salmon flies, and
an interesting review of the newest fly tying materials.

Definitely one of the better issues I have seen from them.
