I don't think they fish with Ron Lucas's beaded flies. The handmade lamp work beads are very expensive and they would break if they hit anything with them. They would sink like a rock and I'd much rather be hit by a clouser than one of those. There are some tiers that do fish with full dressed flies just for nostalgia's sake. The same kind of fisherman that likes to use Bamboo rods also. When they get that fancy with their flies though they usually end up on a wall because of the price of the materials. I was fortunate enough to have the foresight to buy a few of Ron Reinhold's hooks when I stopped by to visit him while in Traverse City. He was seriously considering selling his business to Ron Lucas at the time so I wasn't too surprised when he did. I will most likely not even tie on Ron Reinhold's hooks. They're works of art all by themselves. What most astonished me though were the nets Ron R made! WOW!! I wish I had taken some pictures of the fishing nets but I got too caught up with the hook conversation and didn't think of it. Regards, Deb
