This is the one I mentioned in my post.

Here's one tied on a size 34 Mustad 3777. You can see the hook better in
this one.

I think the hook is sold mainly in Europe as a live bait hook.

Folks: I had a fly rod as a teen, and fly fished a little with my Uncle, but
the last two season have been what I call my "first and second real seasons"
And, I concentrated on flies for bluegills, cause I like to catch a lot of
fish... But, now I want to catch some big fish as well, so I am trying some
of the bass flies..Now, the last two years, i caught an occasional largemouth
on my bluegill flies... But, can you tie flies that will catch both equally
(or nearly equally) as well??? Or, , for example.. i tied most of my flies on
size 10-16 hooks.. And, the bass flies are tied mostly on size 6 and
bigger... So, could I tie a bass bug, or clouser minnow , etc ect, in a size
that is
in between the 6 and the 10 and catch both???? I guess you could say I want
to "have my cake and eat it too" LOL..Oh, and if so, which are some good
patterns??? Thanks, Chuck

Chuck:
I use a Sneaky Pete style slider that catches both bass and sunfish.
It's tied on a size 30 Mustad 3777. The only Mustad I've ever used that's
sharp right out of the box. Now don't let the size throw you off. I just
checked and it's close to a size 4. The fly itself is about 2 inches long
with
legs and tail and works equally well in catching the bluegill, green,
pumpkinseed, rock bass, smallmouth and largemouth in the local creek I fish.
I tie in
Flo Yellow, White, Black and Fire Tiger and Orange Tiger with the Flo Yellow
the most effective.
