What's the purpose of your display?  How do you plan to display your flies?
Are they to go in front of you at your tying bench at a show?
Some tiers tie multiple stages of the same fly to show the progression
through the pattern.
All of what you mentioned  can be done, but usually an excellent tie of a
fishable version is all that's required.

Then there's salmon flies.
Then there's the Baits Motel.
