There you go, Chuck. Now you know why these swaps are also such a great way to restock your own flyboxes. At least, they always work out that way for me - I invariable make a bunch of errors and those go into my boxes.
Regarding the GRHE. I don't usually forget to wrap the gold ribbing, my problem is forgetting to tie it in at all! Have ya'll ever had this problem??? I even wrote myself a NOTE and put it right in front of my vise LOL.. Talk about getting Halfheimers LOL... I am tying my GRHEN's for the swap... I took about 25 hooks, and wrapped .015 lead on the shanks.. I then lay down a thread base..I then tie in the tail.. I then tie in my gold tinsel thread that I am using for the gold ribbing, I then dub the body.. I then tie in the turkey feather for the wing case.. I then dub in the thorax.. I then bring the turkey feather forward and tie off the wing casing.. I then made a head and cut the thread... i then put head cement on then head.. I then take the fly out of the vise, only to see that danged gold ribbing hanging there ROFL... I have done at least 12 flies like this.. I mean, it is not a total waste as I just put those in my fly box to use for gills this Spring.. But I'm trying to tie the flies for the swap ...PROPERLY LOL, Chuck
