Chuck,
Theresa went through this back in 99. So I know what you are going
through and pray it turns out the same way. Sorry it took me so long to
respond, have been at the VA the last couple of days and should be
"Glowing" from all the "X" rays. I fell last week in the ice and snow and
busted that rib again, the one under my lungs. Almost punctured the right
lung this time, not good. But they have me stabilized and told me "not" to
do "any" lifting or raising my right arm above my chest for at least a
week. That limits me a bunch for several days.
Look forward to meeting you at the Sowbug. As to the hides, yes,
stretch them as best you can on a flat surface. Scrape all of the meat and
fat that you can off of them with a knife held 90ยบ to the hide and then
rub
liberal amounts of Borax into it. After that wait 7 to 10 days and any
spots that show "dampness", rub a 50 50 mix of Borax and salt into them.
Before you cut them for storage rub them down one more time then scrape
them the next day to remove any execs.
The best way to store them for long term is s freezer, next best is a
cool dark, dry place. They should last for years.
REight now I don't need any deer hair, but pass it on to those that
may
need it, or, spin a bunch of bass bugs...;-)
Have a good night and give the wife a hug from us. Hope we get to meet you
at the Sowbug.
Going to take some "heavy" meds and hit the rack. Body is very sore and
stiff tonight. Hope I can do some fly tying the next few days. Am headed
to
ABQ next week to get "cast" for my new braces. Hope they arive before the
Sowbug so I can do some wading and fishing with yopu and thye rest of the
VFB'Rs that show up.
Jimi
Thanks to all for the thoughts and prayers. All went well with the
removal.. Doc said it looked like a "Lipoma Tumor" which is benign
abnormal
fatty tissue, but we won't know 100% for about a week.. Thanks again,
Chuck

Subject: [VFB] Prayer request
Folks: Please remember My wife (and me as I'm a nervous wreck about it,
but she ain't nervous at all, or at least she ain't letting on if she
is)..in your thoughts and prayers At 3pm today she has to have a 5mm
"lump" removed from her breast.. The mammogram, and the surgeon says it is
a cyst in the fatty portion of the breast, and not in the muscle which is
where most all tumors live as they need a good blood supply.. Well, they
recommended a biopsy to "make sure" but the surgeon says he can just cut
it
out and be done with it for the same price as a biopsy..cause it is barely
under the skin, and he is doing it in his office, using a local and a
versed (sp) shot..Thanks, Chuck
