Evening my friend, "BOY", did you get that right.
Theresa and I are really, (and I mean "REALLY") excited about this. 30
years ago I promised her that if she would merry me I would take her
"Anywhere" she wanted to go for a Honeymoon. Well, as most associated with
the military know, they can change your plans for you.
Well, when we "finely" figured out that the VA was going to make
everything "right", we had already decided that the "priority" was to
re-pay "everyone" who had helped to keep us afloat, feed and sheltered for
this long trying time.
When it did come through, we were "broke" within 3 days, "but", we
"DID" what we promised ourselves we would do, (hay, we have lived for so
long with so little, it was easy to do what was right and feel the best
that we have ever been and do what we promised "ourselves" we would do "IF"
it ever came through.).
When I ask here "Where" she wanted to go for our "Honeymoon", she was
quick and straight forward. "Branson Missouri, if we can do it when "We"
could do the Sowbug as well. She is so excited about having a "real"
honeymoon, and coupling it with meeting people who have been the "Best" of
friends in the "worst" of times for us, and acting like "lids again" going
to someplace we have only dreamed of for so long.
May sound silly to most folks, but, she had been my "Bride" since the
first time I ever laid eyes on her. And I am so proud to say that I am more
in love with her today than I could ever even "imagined" that I was when I
first saw her.
So this is going to be "Very" special for us my friend. We not only get
to finely have the honeymoon we never had, ( let alone the reception or
shower for that mater), She and I are excited that we get to have it with
folks that are far more special than we could have ever invited to to the
"wedding", we did have planned. Just a note if you remember, wedding plan
#1 was interrupted by a SAR call that involved all of our "wedding
Entourage", wedding plan # 2 was interrupted by a hurricane, which put
everyone on alert and closed the chapel. With only 4 days left before the
licenses would expire it was her and I before the JP. Never got to give her
the "Princes Wedding" I had planned. But, never the less, "I" got the gold
ring and the "precious" gift of love and dedication that came with it. She
is so excited to meet you and Dot, as well as all of the others that have
held us in their prayers and given us support through all the tough times
we have had.
I am not really sure who is more excited about my new composite brace,
her or me. She went out and got me a new set of chest waders in
anticipation of the new brace and the possibilities that I would finely get
to wade fish again without fear of drowning. A man could not ask for a
finer "Bride" than I have had the joy to know and love for so long.
Sorry this went so long my friend, just feel "exceptionally Blessed" by
my wife and those that I can call "friends" on the VFB group. They will
never know just how special they are, or how they have helped keep a broken
down old war horse alive for so long.
Look forward to seeing you and Dot on the afternoon/ evening of the
11th and planning a week of fun with friends from there.
As always, you, Dot and everyone on the group is ion our prayers for
safety, health and prosperity.
The Lord only knows how "Wealthy" Theresa and I are, not from monetary
concerns, but from the finest group of people that we can "honestly" call
friends. Almost all of whom we have met on the VFB group.
Will keep you posted as time draws near as to how things are going. BTW,
almost forgot, if you would not mind putting a bug in Deans ear, Theresa
would like to tie next to me at least one session during the show. She is
"torn" on what she would like to tie, but, she is working on it and will be
ready when we arrive.
As always, Your Friends,
Jimi and Theresa, (she is the definition of "Better Half)...;-)
To visit and wet some flies. LOL
Tony
