Steve, about that Kern Emerger, you say that Poul Jorgensen "introduced" it, which he may have, .......i know he promoted it and his name was used to sell it......right on the package in the early days......but, i think Davey Wooten invented and "produced" it, didn't he? I knew Poul very well, and he used it right up until the time of his passing. He loved the stuff........but other than that, i think he just helped to "promote" it. Maybe Tony can clear that up??????? mark..... Thanks for the comments, Mark. I agree with what you are saying. Each SLF package says produced and developed by Davy Wotton. I've got two types: the Dave Whitlock Plus series and the Poul Jorgensen Signature Series. My remark on the Kern Emerger is that Poul "introduced the Fall Green Olive coloration", which is within his series, and the fly designer utilized this particular coloration within his pattern. On the back of the package, Davy indicates that he and Poul worked together to produce this particular type of SLF dubbing. All of the SLF dubbings are excellent blends. I probably should give some kudos to Davy within that prose too. My point with regard to the Kern Emerger, a trout fly, is that even those these blends which were designated for Salmon/Steelhead, can be an excellent choice for trout patterns as well.
