Tony, last year at the "Bug" i went over to Davey's table and personally thanked him for inventing it, and he was very gracious about it...........leaving me with the impression that i had the facts right. I LOVE the stuff as much as Poul did, and use it a lot. I'm pretty sure the deal with Poul was for promotional reasons only.......plus it was most likely a good deal for Poul, $ wise. Poul lived a very meager existance. His entire house was the sise (remember i have a missing key on my pewter) of an average living room. He had breakfast in the Roscoe Dinner every day existing of coffee and an English Muffin.......but what a guy he was.........funny as hell, very generous, and so wise. I paid $260 for my Golden Staked Wing Spey that Poul donated to our (TGF) auction one year, and $300 for a Sir Conrad (his only originall A.S. fly design) that i just had to have, because it was his originall. It made me feel good to give him the money for the Sir Conrad, because i knew he needed it. I sure miss him. mark
