Very cool.......thankx. I love your site for all the info and the patterns. All these little known facts and hidden secrets are the best stuff. History was always my favorite subject........and in fly tying it's a marvelous study......specially the little personall things that made certain tyers do the things they did, and why. Polly R's. story alone is "something else." Kinna like Charlie Fox in the Penn. (PA) spring creek area. Guys who just had a huge love of the outdoors, the resouce and it's habitat......and who gave a tremendous amount back. They "knew" how to look, and see.....by "listening." mark

I'm hip to both Polly Roseborough, ( i have one framed fly by him) and Ted Tureblood, but who is Thom Green?????? markI had to go back to my research for this one, Mark. The only Tom Green I could think of was on Comedy Central..... Well, I found the source. It was in Fly Patterns by Umpqua Feather Merchants. There is an article written by Dave Whitlock about how he evolved as a fly tier. Tom Green was a fellow fly tier and friend of Whitlock's. He introduced Dave to Polly Rosborough's style of tying nymphs. Dave indicates that both Tom and Polly were the ones who got him started in tying nymphs. That's why I like putting together this web site, I get to keep the names of folks like Tom Green alive!!!Regards, Steve
