Chuck,
I recently did a tutorial on just the subject of tying the Calcasieu Pigboat on
the Fly Tying Forum (in the Beginner's Corner, since they were asking). You
can find the tutorial here:

PS: Gill getter recipe is also on my website at
http://chemprof.tripod.com/fishing.html under the bass/panfish link, should be
very similar to the cbfc0.tripod.com link, since I wrote both pages.

Pigboat you tied for the Tom Nixon memorial swap, how do you get 56-72 rubber
legs tied in??? I mean, do you get a bass skirt and tie it in?? Or do you tie
in a few at a time??? I saw those, and now wanna try some of them too, Thanks
again, Chuck

BTW, from looking at the various flies from the Tom NixonMemorial swap (swap
#1 I think it is). I take it that Tom must have been an avid Bass fisherman???
If so, did he write any books on that subject???

Folks: I had some "Gill getter" flies last year, that I THINK had a
chenille body, rubber legs, and say, a squirrel tail tail.. Anybody have a
pattern like this??? I have searched VFB, FAOL and Google and can't seem
to find the exact one I'm hunting.. Thanks, Chuck

   Several variations:

http://www.warmwaterflyfisher.com/jarsofflies/Bluegill/jarsofflies_Gill_Getter.htm

   http://www.virtualflybox.com/patterns/pattern.php?swap_id=15&id=934

   http://cbfc0.tripod.com/gillgett.htm

I also like to add an undersized palmered hackle before pulling the
shell-back over.
