Surf fishing. I stayed in San Diego 3 years ago (hotel Coronado) and
asked the same question. There are some opportunities both in the
surf and in bays. Caught mostly rock bass. Coronado Island has a
decent fly shop that can give directions. Bring an 8-weight and a
sinking line or heavy sink tip. If you need more info, I can try and
dig up the references I received back then.
