Nick and I will leave for the Swedish fly-fair in Stockholm tomorrow and that's much better than Sowbug, so I'm not at all jealous of the Sowbug guys. Standing watching a few Swedish fly-tiers is much better than sitting down beside 100+ world elite ones and having to tie myself. (I hate this pack-unpack-pack procedure that you can't escape when tying out. It's not worth it.) No, Sowbug last year was pure pain. I could hardly tie at all. The people were climbing on top of eachother to take pictures of me and with all those cameras flashing, it was like tying with a stroboscope in my face. When they were reloading their cameras I thought I finally would get a break... but then came the other group that had been waiting and wanted autographs instead. And I never had time to see all those 100+ tiers eitherBut in Stockholm we will have time to see ALL the tiers... over and over again. The fewer tiers the better. You can watch them both longer and several times... and I can do it more relaxed, since I know they can't teach me anything I don't already know. If I also keep my head down in the crowd, I might even be able to escape the cameras and the autograph hunters The fact that stuff cost twice as much here than it does in the States doesn't matter either. I'm going to buy a lot, but still save money... since now I don't have to pay $1000+ to get to the fair. "So what about the fishing?" Well, the ice is still thick here and i prefer that situation. It means that there won't be a reason for me to go outside and get barbequed in the sun. I can sleep as long as I want to and since I don't have to spend any time with my best friends, I won't miss my favourite TV soaps.
Root Beers and Shiners? Well, both are good... but we have liquid stuff in Sweden too. After a certain amount of bottles, the taste kind of seizes to be the top priority anyway. (Nick doesn't seem to agree with everything I've written, but he's quite slow so I'm pretty sure he hasn't seen the whole picture yet.) /Jester On 3/16/07, Deborah Duran <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:
I care... :) When was/is that birthday? Is Jester feeling a little left out of all the Sowbug fever? Should we send you a care package of Root beer barrels?
