Hi All, So it arrived from over the Atlantic. It is a wonderful tool and an heirloom. I have tied a few flies on it and it is smooth and solid.
I am teaching a new fly class this spring called Match the Hatch. I will be making step by step instructions with all of the flies I am tying. Also playing with tube flies. I created the 3 eyed Smelt for Lake Winnipesaukee. We will see how it is doing. I have also been deleting all of the Sowbug emails since I really don't get the jokes - I would have liked to go. Maybe in a few more years. Are there any get togethers like the Sowbug in New England? Other than that, I have enjoying my two boys grow up. My little guy has his 5th tooth coming in. My 4 year old now is climbing areas he shouldn't - he pulls up his own weight like nothing. He is like Spiderman. He is at the age where if he really wanted to he could destroy our entire house in 1 hour!!! Parenting reaches another milestone...hehehe. Thanks, Chappy. Ps. Here is info on the class: I wanted to let everyone know of a 6 week class I have decided to teach for Concord's Classes For Life program. The course is called Match the Hatch and will focus on Tom Ames book on Hatch Charts for New England Streams. We will be tying flies each Monday night with homework of fishing them during the remaining week and reporting back. This way we get some real feedback while learning to tie some innovative and fun patterns as "life" comes back to the water.... Also, many of my previous classes are filled with questions about fishing and how to fish the flies. This class gives us the uncanny ability to share techniques, locales, and advice on a weekly basis. This will prove for some real excitement.
